Celebrate the wonder of your new baby.

Relaxed, natural and pure newborn photography based in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire.

The first few days with your baby are heady and fleeting. They can pass in a blur of emotion and sleep deprivation. A newborn shoot will capture the tiny and incredible features of your new baby.

I use neutral colours, simple posing and beautiful light to create timeless portraits. You’ll look back and hardly believe your baby was ever that small.

Your newborn shoot is best scheduled between four and fourteen days after birth. You’ll receive a warm welcome at my bespoke newborn studio in the Aberdeenshire countryside.

A shoot usually lasts around 2-3 hours and is baby-led. This means if we need to stop for a feed or nappy change we do just that.

Please contact me during your pregnancy to book your shoot. If your baby has already arrived, it’s not too late. Please get in touch and I’ll do my best to fit you in.

1. Where will the newborn session take place?

Your session will take place in my bespoke newborn studio just outside Aberdeen.

2. When is the best time for a newborn shoot?

A newborn shoot is best completed when your baby is 1-2 weeks old. However, I am more than happy to do a newborn session up to 4 weeks old. Sometimes you need a little bit longer to recover after birth. Please book during pregnancy to ensure I have space for you.

3.  How long will the session take?

A newborn session normally takes around 2-3 hours. Some babies sleep the whole way through. Others need a little longer to settle and require a feed during the shoot. That’s ok and we go entirely at the pace of your baby.

4.  Do you use props?

My style is very simple and natural. The focus is always on you and your baby rather than the props. I do have a large selection of blankets and wraps in neutral colours. You do not need to bring anything with you.

5. Can I bring along other family members?

Yes! Dads and older siblings are always welcome.

Newborn sessions can be long and boring for a toddler so I always recommend taking photos that he/she will be in first and then if you have another family member that can come along and take them home then that works well. If that is not possible then do bring snacks and toys that will keep them entertained for a couple of hours.

6. When will I see my photos?

Around a couple of weeks after your shoot has taken place you will receive a link to view your images in an online gallery.

At that point you can choose which package you would like to order. If you choose a package with wall art I will invite you to my garden office where you can view all the various options and I will help you design the perfect piece of wall art for your home.
