Aberdeen Beginners DSLR Photography Workshop
Do you have a fancy DSLR camera but have it stuck on AUTO and hope for the best?
Maybe your photos of your children and family leave you disappointed? Are they often blurry, dark and lack that wow factor?
Would like to learn how to create that beautiful blurry background you see in professional photos?
If you said yes to any of those questions then I can help you!
I am delighted to offer a 1-day relaxed workshop for beginners helping them learn how to use and understand their DSLR camera. You will learn how to transform your photos from BLAH into images you are proud to share and frame!
What you will learn
Get Off Auto
When we shoot on AUTO the camera is in control. The workshop is centred around you understanding how the camera controls light and exposure by learning about aperture, shutter speed and ISO in clear, understandable terms. You will learn to take the images you have always dreamed of by understanding these simple settings!
Colour and Light
We will look at how you can get great colour in your images straight from the camera without any additional editing. During the day we will discuss how light transforms an image and in the practical session we will put that knowledge to use by looking at how to find good light whatever the weather throws at us.
By learning the basic rules of composition the images taken on your DSLR camera or even on your phone will have that WOW factor and stand out from the crowd.
I will teach you how!
Practical Hands on Experience
This one day workshop is not all about theory. The best way to learn is to put it into practice. We will spend the afternoon with our cameras in hand taking photos. I will be there to help you with knowing what settings to use and to ask questions if you are having any difficulties.
Kind words from past participants
Thoroughly clear and understandable guide to your DSLR – very impressed with the effort put into this short course. It takes great teaching ability to pass on the underpinnings of photography in a few short hours and to combine this with hands-on practical experience. Thoroughly recommend it as a small investment added to the expense of your camera.Steve
Thanks Judy for a brilliant workshop! If you’re looking for photography lessons with a gifted professional photographer with the warmest and most welcoming personality – book with Judy Laing. Fun, educational and great practical work. I think I now understand the exposure triangle!Sharon
